UF Certificate in Multicultural Mentoring

The Southeastern Conference (SEC), the University of Florida and the International Mentoring Association (IMA) are pleased to offer this three-part series that provides faculty and staff with tools for effective multicultural mentoring. Participants who take all three live sessions will earn a certificate in multicultural mentoring. The links to register for each session are found below. UF participants can also earn points toward their Passport to Great Teaching by registering through the Center for Teaching Excellence. Information on this is found below.

UF Faculty and Staff: Please follow these steps if you are interested in earning points toward a Passport to Great Teaching certificate:

  1. Create a passport account if you do not already have one: https://uf.tfaforms.net/306. You will be asked to select the certificate you are working toward. You will receive two separate emails. The first will thank you for creating your account and the second will let you know when your account has been created. You will not be able to register for any events or login to the Portal until your account is created. IMPORTANT: Please allow up to one business day for your account to be created.
    1. Log into your passport account and navigate to Activities & Reflections/Upcoming activities  
    2. Register for each session you wish to attend.

    To receive your certificate:

    2. After recording your participation, you will receive a link to a brief anonymous survey.

    3. After completing the survey, you will receive a link to the PDF certificate.

    4. Download the PDF from DropBox and add your name to the fillable field.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Do I need to attend the live webinars in order to be eligible for the certificate?

    Yes. Because the session are interactive, live participation is an important part of the course content.

    Will recordings of the sessions be available?

    Recordings will be made available to registered attendees after the session. Watching the recording does not count toward completion of the certificate.

    I missed one session. Am I allowed to take the other sessions?

    Yes. Each session stands alone and can be attended without having participated in the previous session(s).

    Can I get credit for participating in the course?

    This series is not for academic or continuing education credit. The certificate may be included in your CV or resume to document your participation in this skill building series.

    Is there a fee for participating?

    No. This series is offered as a free resource. The associated costs are covered by the SEC, the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer.

    How do I get my certificate?

    At the close of the course, a link will be added to this webpage that will allow participants to log their attendance. Upon completion of the survey, participants will receive a link to the printable certificate.
