Inclusive Excellence Assessment
In spring 2022, the Office of the CDO engaged Dr. Damon Williams and his team from the Center for Strategic Diversity Leadership and Social Innovation to conduct a strategic assessment of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at the University of Florida.
This in-depth process included:
- A stragegic diversity inventory completed by every college and business unit. A preliminary analysis of the results reveal that UF has more than 1,000 unique diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. After the data have been thoroughly analyzed and confirmed, this information will be available in searchable database that will support learning and collaboration.
- Community building listening sessions. These listening sessions and accompanying insight-to-action survey were conducted in the summer and early fall of 2022. The findings from these sessions offer important insights into the priorties of campus stakeholders, which will inform the Inclusive Excellence Blueprint.
- Benchmarking study. Dr. Williams' team compared UF's diversity, equity and inclusion infrastructure and activities with 12 peer institutions. The resulting analyses highlight our strengths and opportunities for growth.
- Strategic leadership development. Dr. Williams has engaged with UF leaders and stakeholders throughout the course of the project to help build capacity and understanding as we move our inclusive excellence efforts forward.
Dr. Williams will present the final report and executive summary in early January 2023. This report will be the foundation of our inclusive excellence objectives and accountability structure.
